The bizhub C10 from Konica Minolta is what's known as an 'all-in-one' or multifunction printer. The C10 performs copying, scanning, faxing and color printing duties and is aimed at the small business or home office user. It's a reasonably compact model with dimensions of 430 x 395 x 341mm (I don't know what that is in inches).
Printing with the C10/C10X
The desktop laser printer component of this multifunction device prints in both black and white and color. The printing speed is rated at 5 pages per minute in color and 20 pages per minute in monochrome (black and white) with print resolution of 600 x 600 dpi. As with most of these types of printers there is a warm-up period and a deley before the first page printed.
The C10 can be connected to your PC via a standard USB 2.0 interface or you can put it directly on a network using the ethernet adapter. If you have a digital camera which supports PictBridge technology, you can also print photos directly from your camera via the USB port.
The standard paper tray holds 200 sheets or if you need the extra capacity you can also buy the extra tray which has a capacity of 500 sheets giving you a total capacity of 700 sheets.
I should note that while duplexing is standard on the C10X, it is an optional extra on the C10.
Bizhub C10/C10X Copier Capabilities
Copying speeds vary from 5 pages per minute for color copies up 20 pages per minute for black and white. When using the copier functionality you can fine tune your output by adjusting the copy quality, zoom ratio and copy density. Advanced features include 2 in 1 copying and duplex (double-sided) copying. And using the automatic document feeder (ADF) you can automatically copy up to 50 originals in one go.
Scanning
As with most all in one printers, the bizhub C10 comes with a built-in scanner. Scan rates are 4 seconds per original in black and white and 10 seconds for color with multi-page documents once again being handled by the automatic document feeder. Several scan modes are supported. You can choose from scan to email with attachments being either in TIFF or PDF format, TWAIN scanning, or Windows WIA scan for Windows based machines.
Faxing
The C10's built in fax offers advanced faxing capabilities. Transmission speed is up to 33.6 Kbps. Up to 9 frequently used fax numbers can be programmed for one-touch dialing while up to 100 speed dial numbers can be stored. There is also a group dialing feature which allows commonly faxed numbers to be grouped together allowing a fax to be sent to multiple recipients in a single transmission. You've also got all of the other good stuff like auto-redial, memory receipt and the like.
Customer feedback on the bizhub C10 seems to be mostly positive. They like the build quality and the features available for the price. It seems to compare well to the MFP's from HP, Samsung and Brother.
The Konica Minolta Bizhub C10 all in one printer comes with a one year on-site warranty while the C10X AIOP comes with 3 years.
